Back to School! Join our Community Action training cohort this September/October!

This five part learning opportunity is for people who are passionate about their communities and are interested in creating positive community change in Calgary.

Together with other learners, you will deepen your knowledge and build relevant skills that you can use to strengthen your own communities.

Our curriculum was developed through a collaborative process with input from Calgary residents, community development practitioners, and others in the field of community development and leadership development. You will learn a leadership approach that expands the way we think and work in communities to involve diverse perspectives and mobilize diverse skills and resources.

Topics explored include leadership, community change, community visioning, community conversations, asset mapping, ally building, communication, and planning. You can explore the curriculum here.

Our format is train-the-trainer, meaning that through the learning process you will also develop facilitation skills so that you can share your learnings with your own communities. In doing so, you will also be joining a community of learners who have completed the curriculum over the past two years!

We will meet Monday evenings starting September 23 until October 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and require that learners can attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions to participate.

If you have any questions, please get in touch by e-mailing AmandaPr@caryacalgary.ca or calling 403-919-3072.

We look forward to learning with you!
