Mini Summit 2025

What is Mini Summit

Mini Summit is a local mini conference to discuss all things community development. Each year CDLI convenes a Working Group to make decisions about the format, calling question (theme) and host the summit in June.

The 2024 theme was Community Development Basics Redefined. Twelve sessions were offered both virtual and hybrid in person. Sessions explored community development from online spaces to empowering youth experiencing discrimination due to their Afro hair, activating spaces to creating and sustaining community-led projects.

The 2023 theme was exploring ‘The Next Generation: What’s Emerging in our Communities?’ We had a wide variety of hosted sessions sharing approaches, successes, challenges, favourite tools, and considerations rooted in what’s next…engaging youth, bridging gaps between generations or the next iteration of the nonprofit and community sector!

Recordings of sessions can be found on our Youtube channel and you can read more about Mini Summit 2023 here and Mini Summit 2024 here!
