What's Possible!? Our Communities Are Changing. So Are We.

On Saturday, December 4, 2021 we hosted our end-of-year gathering on the theme of ‘What’s Possible!?’.

As we’ve been in conversation with various communities across the year we’ve been hearing a lot about the changes taking place right now… whether that’s change that is already happening - because of the pandemic, because of the makeup of our communities and the leadership who represents them, or changes that need to happen to make our communities more just, anti-racist, and able to tackle the climate crisis...

Over the summer we invited people to go into their communities and ask “What surprises you about what people in your community are talking about right now?” to practice some curiosity and surface what’s on people’s minds and where they might be going.

We’ve been having a lot of conversations - some of which you can see recordings of on our website now - with people about the changes in their communities and the possibilities they see moving forward.

At What’s Possible!? we held space in community to dig deeper on these questions… first we heard from four Calgarians who ran during the municipal election, as they have each been doing a lot of personal and community work to not only think about the possibilities but also put forward their own visions. They offer unique perspectives on the changes on the past, present, and future, and what that means for the possibilities of our communities moving forward. We cannot thank them enough for being a part of this day and sharing their experiences with us!

Afterwards, we went into facilitated breakout rooms where we reflected on the changes our communities have been facing, and what possibilities we see moving forward. We used a What, So What, Now What process to guide us along the way. You can see the harvests we collected below (click to see more!). A huge thank you to our wonderful facilitators and note takers who made this possible!

We had such a fantastic day, and cannot wait to be in community with you again in the near future!

Thank you to each and every one of you who made this gathering possible!
