A Community Consultation with the Community Mobile Crisis Response Team (CMCR) happening on Wednesday February 15 from 4pm-6pm. This session aims to hear feedback from residents, service providers and community leaders/champions from diverse communities about supporting community members in distress with the end goal of diverting mental health and substance use distress calls away from police.

The Community Mobile Crisis Response Team (CMCR) is a pilot project that will be available for the community in East Calgary (District 4). The team includes a Healthcare provider, Peer support member and a Calgary Police member. This pilot will focus on a person-centered, trauma-informed, equity-based approach to crisis response for those experiencing non-emergent mental health crises or substance use disorders where there is no threat to safety.

In addition, this pilot will work in collaboration with existing crisis response teams to collectively improve access to services; including enhanced cultural awareness for those living in racialized communities, and a sustained commitment to reduce systemic stigma. To register or for more info, email Marie at mgascon@thealex.ca (cc’d) or call/text her at (403) 863-3953.
