Gather with us on April 27 for our Meet Up on 'Practicing Sustainability'!

Join us IN PERSON for an evening of experiences and conversations on ways we’re practicing sustainability in our communities!

This Meet Up is taking place on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association (1320 5 Avenue NW).

We will have several experiences and connections relating to ways of practicing sustainability in our communities. We are also very excited to be bringing together three community leaders who will share their thoughts on the question of 'using sustainability as a way of building community'.

We'll have more information soon about some of the activities to expect, but for now, find out more about our panel members.

Note that this is an in person experience only, with connections happening outdoors and in large room off of the main entrance of HSCA. We will unfortunately not have ways for people to participate in this gathering virtually, nor will there be a recording. However, we'll have plenty of other opportunities to connect over the coming weeks!

Jodi Lammiman - Refugia Retreats

Jodi Lammiman is a community facilitator, eco-spiritual director (coach) and artist who resides as a grateful guest on Treaty 7 land. In 2016 she founded Refugia Retreats, an initiative which, through retreat, workshops and one to one eco-spiritual direction, seeks to explore what it means to be human and create spaces to reconnect to self, community and the living world. Refugia also works specifically to provide support to folks & communities experiencing climate & eco-grief. Jodi is interested in the way that eco-awareness practices can help individuals and communities explore alternatives to traditionally accepted narratives of wellness culture, productivity culture, and capitalism by offering a deeper connection to the more than human world and its rhythms of rest, germination, and balance. In her downtime, Jodi can often be found exploring Alberta by canoe, roaming the Ghost valley with her pup, Iroh and partner, Christopher, or with her nose in a good book, where she can get lost for hours.
