Webinar - Decolonizing Spaces with Creativity

This webinar provides confidence in understanding what decolonizing looks like in practice, confidence in promoting inclusion and belonging in spaces, and confidence in moving towards meaningful reconciliation and relationship building from a place of understanding oneself.

The content framework for the “Decolonizing Spaces with Creativity” webinar comes from Elaine Alec’s Cultivating Safe Spaces program which was developed to help everyone understand what cultivating a safe space for oneself and others looks like.

CONTENT
In this 3-hour online webinar session, we will explore:
*the difference between colonial and de-colonial ways of being, doing, knowing, and feeling
*the understanding we have ourselves
*the practice of love, patience, and discipline
*the necessary protocols for cultivating a safe space including inclusion, validation, well-being, and freedom
*the different perspectives we have including tradition, relationship, action, and innovation
*the impact of vicarious trauma and resiliency
*the nested system of individual, family, community, and land

CREATIVITY
Supporting the content of the webinar will also be creative prompts because:
*creativity is curious
*creativity disrupts the status quo
*creativity provides our bodies with a pause to process
*creativity allows us to move into the most innovative and empathetic places in our brains

These creative prompts will be an invitation. You can opt in, not, or out.
