Create A Grief Care Map

Creating a Grief Care Map

In addition to mapping your COVID-19 experience of grief, creating a Grief Care Map can also be a helpful exercise when processing grief. Map the community resources, relationships, activities and places that help you to feel comforted as you process and move through grief. The map above can be used as a template to help you think about the supports you might turn to when you are processing grief. Some categories you might consider are:

People (top right hand corner):

Who are supportive people that you can turn to when you are feeling sad?

Professional Supports (middle page on the right)

What professional supports can you reach out to when you are experiencing grief?

Supportive Activities (bottom right hand corner)

What activities help you to feel comfort when you are experiencing grief?

Places that Provide Comfort (bottom left corner)

What places give you comfort? This could include natural spaces, religious institutions, a certain part of your home or backyard, or other places that feel special to you.

Resources (upper left corner)

What books, music, podcasts, films, art, and other resources do you return to for comfort when you are feeling grief?
