2021 Calgary Municipal Election: What are your ballot questions?

What are your ballot questions?

The 2021, Calgary Municipal Election is October 18th, what is your community asking from our elected officials? Calgary is changing and we’re about to have many fresh faces in City Hall, asking the question, what’s next for City of Calgary? There are concerns of how we citizens provide input about the decisions made at City Hall. Identifying places for Calgarians to come together in community, affordable & accessible housing, anti-racism efforts and committing to actions in the White Goose Flying Report. Municipal council contributes to social wellbeing including:

  • Building Permits and Zoning

  • Water and Sewer Services

  • City Parks and Recreation

  • Roads and Sidewalks

  • Public Transportation

  • Libraries

  • Local Police

  • Fire Rescue Services

  • Garbage and Recycling

  • Snow Removal

  • Animal Control

Here at CDLI, we wanted to get to know the candidates better, we surveyed the candidates and here are some of their responses, you can find it 2021 Candidate Responses.

At CDLI we’re strength-based, we’re curious about the strengths of candidates. We asked candidates what their strengths are. Are they good organizers, natural connectors, policy experts or being good on a team? We wanted to know.

Second, we are interested to know how they’ve been involved in building community, and how candidates have engaged in their respective communities. We would hope that one of the reasons why candidates are running is they want to representing their community. We wanted to hear from them how their previous actions matched their words.

Finally, community development focuses on relationships, asking the question, who inspires you, knowing who candidates are inspired by speaks to their relationships. #ConnectInspireAct
