May 2021 Conversation & Notes

The fifth gathering of 2021 took place on Wednesday, May 19!

Of the topics available we had three great conversations - you can find the full notes here.

The questions explored in each breakout room and highlights shared include:

How might we support one another to build community over the coming months?

  • Find ways to let people opt in - comfort levels may differ

Funding Opportunities Available

  • Developed a list of opportunities in the notes

  • Key message: Ask around! Some grants are specific to what you want to do, some are specific to the geographic area… check with people in your area, because they may know of others.

What are some agenda ideas to promote engagement with residents coming together for the first time in a virtual meeting to explore their ideas to support their community?

  • It is important to PRACTICE doing the virtual meeting. Become familiar with the technical piece.

  • You can learn these skills from the members of the group! Find people within the group who can offer those skills.

  • Lots of ideas for ice breakers and activities discussed.

Don’t miss out on the opportunities shared in the notes!

Our next practitioner gathering will be the CD Practitioner Mini Summit on June 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. where we’ll be hearing from several different practitioners on what they have found success with over the past year! For more information, and to register, visit our website.
