The event is presented by a grassroots organization based in Texas and submitted by CDLI network member because the content and information is very much aligned with the community-based engagement that CDLI Calgary is about!

Rooted Uprising Collective is a BIPOC-led social and environmental justice collective that engages, elevates, and empowers communities to take action towards a regenerative world.  

 We're hosting The People's Party of Texas in an upcoming virtual speaker event titled "Civic Engagement: Beyond the Ballot Box" to talk about the various ways individuals can get involved with their communities beyond voting. This will include discussion about democracy, mutual aid, different voting styles, and involve breakout room activities to work on actionable ideas!
